Consultation

This is a 45 minute meeting with whom ever the school or program would like us to communicate with. This is important, for it creates a space for all members of the team to meet one another, set goals for our consultation process, and determine best ways to communicate moving forward. 

A Glow & Grow Occupational Therapist will come to the school/ program and spend 3 hours observing specific students (*student- centered) or whole classrooms (*classroom centered). We request that the school team provides us with a list of student names and/or classrooms (as well as their concerns) the day before in order for the therapist to prepare. 

*Student Centered  - Consultation Services Used to Target and Support Specified Students:

• Observing students based on list given to therapists (spotlights students of interest)
• Teacher concerns provided to help therapists provide plans of support

*Classroom Centered - Consultation Services Used to Provide Whole Classroom Management Support: 

• Therapist provided with classroom to observe during the school day
• Provides proactive measures to support whole classroom regulation and reach developmental milestones 

A Glow & Grow Occupational Therapist will present observations and therapeutic suggestions to the team. Team will reflect on input and create a plan to implement.
